Company & Product Background
NeedThings is a business management and merchant services platform designed mainly for service-based businesses, especially nail salons, beauty salons, and any business that requires an appointment system.
NeedThings helps businesses:
- Manage appointments and scheduling
- Handle check-ins and queue systems
- Process payments (POS & merchant services)
- Track sales and reports
- Manage customers and loyalty programs
- Support franchise and multi-location operations
It combines software (CRM + booking + POS tools) with payment processing solutions, so businesses can run their daily operations more efficiently in one system.
NeedThings was originally envisioned as a search platform designed to connect local businesses with customers, similar in concept to a vertical search engine. However, without significant marketing capital to compete at scale, we shifted to a more practical and impactful approach.
As a nail salon owner with a background in software development, I needed a better way to automate and manage daily operations. After evaluating several existing systems and finding none that fully met our needs, I decided to build a solution myself.
We began with online booking. Two years later, NeedThings evolved into a comprehensive CRM and business management system that allows salon owners to manage operations remotely and monitor real-time performance with full transparency and control.
We explored other brand directions, including Wookia.com and NeedBookings.com. Ultimately, we chose to stay with NeedThings.com because it represents the broader vision: connecting businesses with customers beyond just bookings.
If you type Wookia.com or NeedBookings.com today, they redirect to NeedThings.com. While we started by solving operational challenges, the longterm vision is to build a connection platform that connects businesses and the customers they serve.
Can you give us a brief overview of NeedThings and the problem your scheduling platform solves?
NeedThings is an integrated business management and merchant services platform built for service-based businesses, particularly nail and beauty salons. Our solution combines appointment scheduling, CRM, POS, and payment processing into one unified system.
Many salons struggle with disconnected tools, manual scheduling adjustments, staff assignment errors, and limited visibility into daily operations. Our smart scheduling platform solves this by automatically matching services with qualified technicians, calculating accurate service durations, and synchronizing payments and reporting in real time.
The result is fewer booking errors, less manual oversight, improved operational efficiency, and a smoother experience for both business owners and customers.
Who is your ideal customer (industry, business size, use case)?
Small to large nail salons and beauty salons, as well as any business that requires an appointment scheduling system.
What makes Need Things different from other scheduling apps in the marketplace?
Unlike traditional scheduling apps, NeedThings appointment system is a smart appointment system. NeedThings uses skill-based matching to automatically assign the right staff and correct service time. When a customer selects a service, the system automatically assigns the correct duration and matches the appointment with the appropriate staff member who is qualified to perform that service.
This eliminates manual review and constant adjustments by the owner. Appointments are scheduled accurately from the start, saving time, reducing errors, and improving operational efficiency.
Partnership & Integration with Dejavoo
What led you to integrate with Dejavoo?
We initially partnered with North American Bancard and deployed PAX devices as part of our payment processing solution. As a startup, we were still gaining experience in the payments space, and over time we realized we needed a stronger technical support structure and deeper collaboration to scale effectively.
One of our developers had prior experience working with the Dejavoo API, which gave us confidence to explore a different direction. After engaging with the Dejavoo team, the experience was immediately different. Within just a few days of working with their support team, we saw the responsiveness, technical clarity, and partnership mindset we were looking for.
Since then, we have never looked back. Dejavoo has proven to be a strong and reliable partner, providing excellent support and alignment with our long-term growth strategy. We look forward to continuing to strengthen this partnership and achieving even greater success together.
What were you looking for in a payment technology partner?

Why did Dejavoo stand out compared to other payment providers?
Dejavoo stood out because of their responsiveness, technical support, and partnership mindset.
What type of integration did you choose (API, semi-integrated, fully integrated, cloud-based, etc.), and why was that the right fit for your platform?
Currently, we are using an API and semi-integrated. We are hoping to be fully integrated to give our customer better user experience…
How was your experience working with Dejavoo’s development and support teams?
Working with Dejavoo’s team has been a great experience.
Were there any challenges during integration, and how were they resolved?
There were some challenges during the integration process, but they were resolved efficiently through close coordination with Dejavoo’s team.
Business Impact & Customer Value
The integration and platform development enabled us to secure a contract to support 500 locations, which is a significant milestone for our company.
What benefits does this integration bring to your merchants or end users?
Our focus is delivering a complete, all-in-one solution. By integrating scheduling, CRM, and payments into one platform, we simplify operations and create greater efficiency for our customers.
Have you seen measurable improvements (faster checkout, fewer errors, better reporting, increased revenue, etc.)?
Marketplace & Growth
What does being part of Dejavoo’s App Marketplace mean for NeedThings?
Being part of Dejavoo’s App Marketplace – DV Store – provides meaningful exposure to a broader network of merchants who are already using Dejavoo devices.
How does this partnership support your growth strategy?
This partnership plays an important role in expanding our customer reach. By being integrated with Dejavoo and participating in their ecosystem, we gain access to a broader base of merchants who are actively looking for reliable, integrated solutions.
Forward-Looking
What excites you most about the future of this partnership?
The partnership supports our long-term growth by increasing visibility, accelerating adoption, and positioning NeedThings as a trusted solution within the payment technology ecosystem.
Are there additional features or enhancements you plan to explore with Dejavoo?
Tap-to-Pay directly on mobile devices through our POS application.
What advice would you give other ISVs considering integration with Dejavoo?
Treat the integration as a strategic partnership, not just a technical connection. Clear communication, understanding the API deeply, and aligning long-term goals will make the process smooth and scalable.
